NEW DELHI, As part of its ongoing Vigilance Awareness Campaign, NLC India Limited (NLCIL) organized a major community walkathon aimed at promoting ethical governance, transparency, and anti-corruption awareness across society. The event brought together employees, corporate stakeholders, school students, and teachers, reinforcing the collective commitment required to strengthen integrity and accountability in both organizational and civic life.

A Multilingual Pledge for Honesty and Accountability

The rally commenced at the NLC India Hospital, where participants gathered with enthusiastic support. Prior to flag-off, a ceremonial integrity pledge was administered in three languages by senior NLCIL leadership, including Thiru Appakannu Govindarajan, IPoS, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO); Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines); and Thiru Samir Swarup, Director (HR), along with other senior executives.

Participants solemnly pledged to uphold honesty, active anti-corruption practices, and transparent conduct in both their professional responsibilities and personal lives.

Spreading Vigilance Across the Community.

Following the pledge, the walkathon traversed the township’s main roads to actively spread messages of public accountability and vigilance. To deepen engagement with central themes of Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW), a slogan and placard competition was conducted alongside the rally. School students and corporate representatives marched with handmade placards displaying anti-corruption messages, successfully drawing public attention to the importance of ethical conduct and moral responsibility.

Interactive Outreach and Digital Engagement

The walkathon concluded at the Gandhi Statue in Main Bazaar, receiving widespread support from local residents and onlookers. To create a lasting impact, NLCIL introduced a digital signature wall at the finish venue. This interactive installation enabled participants of all age groups to digitally record their signatures as a public commitment to integrity, offering a modern, unified platform for employees, students, and citizens to reaffirm their resolve against corrupt practices.

Building a Transparent and Sustainable Future

Through this initiative, NLCIL reaffirmed that eradicating corruption demands sustained, shared responsibility across all levels of society. By combining public participation, youth involvement, and digital outreach, the company continues to champion transparent, ethically driven governance for a cleaner and stronger nation.
